house parties in gaza....
= great fun. but one should try to be home before pumpkin time. otherwise tomorrow is not so much fun.
today was long. lots of people yelled at me, and i was the whipping boy many a time. but, my boss thinks i am wonderful, i was treated to chocolate and biscuits, and someone else made me dinner and plied me with wine. so over all i suppose it is bearable.
and now i should sleep. because i must be up in 6 hours for another day. i cannot wait til friday and a chance to sleep in.
and ied's....
i mean to post originally about this. the highlight of today was the lecture on ied's that we recieved.
ied's are composed of four parts: main charge, initiator, switch, and packaging - after 1/2 a bottle of wine i can remember this, which is probably a good thing! one must always check under vehicles, in this area anticipate a secondary device.
i also learned how to navigate a mine field - don't. stand still and call our fsco. and also about mercury switches, and to be super careful if the light in your fridge is out because the tilt switch might have been knicked to create an ied.
i am sure you will all sleep restfully now.
i recommend a glass of wine and 30 minutes of dancing. it makes everything a bit more palatable. that and 14 hour days :)
